This is suitable for a Chrismukkah celebration, which is what my family will be celebrating this year. Yes, latkes and brisket on Christmas day. Something for everyone. (Although no matzah; that’s for Passover). But there will be plenty of dough of all types.
May your year-end be imbued with the spirit of philanthropy, and filled with all the dough you seek.
Ready to sing?
(To the tune of “Deck the Halls”)
Deck the Halls with Balls of Matzah
Deck the halls with balls of matzah,
Fa la la la la, la la, la la.
Tis the season to get lotsa
Donations galore, and tra, la, la.
Enter now we gifts of plenty,
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Counting up each ten and twenty.
Fa la la la la, la la, la la.
Feeling somewhat under pressure,
Fa la la, la la, la la, la la.
Now’s the time we take our measure.
Fa la la, la la, la la, la la.
Each of us is in our places
Fa la la, fa la la, la la la.
As we don our happy faces,
Fa la la, la la, la la, la la.
And did we neglect to mention,
Fa la la la la, la la, la la.
Every donor gets attention,
Fa la la, la la, la la, la la.
Yes our skins are tough as leather,
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
But we do it all TOGETHER,
Fa la la, la la, la la, la la!
I wrote this song 15 years ago to be sung by my development team. Just a way to lighten things up!
I know it’s a busy time of year. Don’t get stressed. This is the season to love your donors. To love each other. And to be grateful.
You are doing the world’s most important work.
Happy holidays and may you enjoy a new year filled with many blessings and joys.
Warm regards,
P.S. DON’T FORGET: The last day to grab the ‘early bird’ discount for my 8-week online e-Course, Winning Major Gifts Fundraising Strategies for the small and medium-sized shop, is December 29th. A whopping 87% of all giving comes from individuals, and two-thirds of this philanthropy comes from just 3% of households. This is where you’ll find the dough! You can’t afford not to do this, so… may as well grab a discount while you’re at it. Questions? Email me directly at claire@clairification.com
